This class will combine the fluidity and alignment of traditional contemporary dance with vocabulary and movement rooted in the African Diaspora. The class will include floor work, center work, progressions across the floor, and a final combination. Students will gain an understanding of blending styles, versatility in their movement vocabulary, and an appreciation for African Diaspora movements such as house, street styles, and Umfundalia.
